LEYTON ARTS FESTIVAL X PROTEST PLACARDS
The brilliant folks at Leyton Midland Collective put on a fantastic arts festival in Leyton at the start of the summer
and I proposed a photography workshop as part of the programme. I set up in Leyton Boundary Garden and
invited people to write a protest slogan on a placard. It was such a wonderful day using photography as a way to
bring people together, spark conversations and create. What first drew me to photography as a teen was that it
seemed like such a powerful medium, something that could bring about change. I still believe it has a power, albeit
in a different way now and community projects like this highlight that for me. Any artist facilitator opportunities
