FELICITY CRAWSHAW
HUW
Felicity Crawshaw’s portrait of Huw has been selected for the Winston Taylor (formerly the Taylor
Wessing) Photo Portrait Prize and will be exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery from 5 November 2026
to 17 January 2027.
The portrait forms part of a larger body of work commissioned by Slade Farm, a family-run organic farm
rooted in a sustainable approach to agriculture. Huw is the nephew of Polly and Graeme, the third
generation of tenant farmers on this land, and his family lives in a cottage on the farm.
In this portrait, Huw seemed to distil the values of Slade Farm, reflecting the care and commitment
behind farming with nature and the hands-on approach that reconnects people with food, the land, and
the wider environment.
