Ten Years and Counting
Two weeks ago PICSEL celebrated its 10th Birthday at Iconic Images
Gallery in London. This was an opportunity for PICSEL to thank our
members for the trust they put in us all those years ago, and the undying
support they have shown over the last decade.
They took a big risk financially in signing with PICSEL, anything could
have happened. But our distributions show that they were wise.
We represent 6% of visual rightsholders in the UK collective licensing
schemes, have a 13% market share yet distribute almost 20% of the
royalties available. Our market share for TV distributions is over 30%.
Individual creators earnt from £25 to £20,000 with single images earning
over £7,000.
This was also an opportunity for PICSEL and members to thank all of
those who make the distributions possible, collecting and analysing
data and making the distributions to the Visual Arts CMOs.
Honoured guests were those workers from other CMOs that we work
with on a daily basis to ensure visual arts rightsholders are e ectively
represented and remunerated.
PICSEL thanks it’s amazing members for the last decade and look
forward to the next with them.
