Record 115,000 creators to share £6 million in Payback royalties
Today, DACS announces that over £6 million in Payback royalties will be shared with a
record 115,000 photographers, artists, illustrators and their representatives. The royalties
come from DACS’ share of collective licensing revenue for the photocopying, scanning or
recording of artistic works, with payments expected to reach bank accounts from the end of
this week.
This year, almost 5,000 more creators will benefit from Payback, taking the total number of
recipients to a record 115,000 and underlining the importance of collective licensing income
for visual creators.
