CEO Attends DCMS Independent Creatives and Smaller
Creative Organisations Working Group
Following on from the Government9s announcement on
18 March in which they set out a work programme
covering four focus areas:
Digital Replicas (a Personality Right);
Labelling AI-generated content;
Creator control and transparency;
Support Independent creatives' ability to license their
content.
The group are to reconvene every few
months to review different
approaches. We made it clear we need
to see licensing in the form of
compensation. Additionally, our CEO
has been requested to provide
feedback on what 8Transparency9 and
8Creator Control9 looks like for
professional photographers in relation
to generative-AI.
In early September the Department for Digital, Culture
Media & Sport (DCMS) convened a newly formed
Independent Creatives and Smaller Creative
Organisations Working Group to discuss AI, copyright
