MORANDI'S TABLE
Inspired by Giorgio Morandi’s still lifes and compositions, I wanted to shoot a series of quiet, contemplative
images. I imagined him seated at his dining table, surrounded by the familiar objects from his paintings, not
arranged as art, but as part of everyday life. I wanted to capture the subtle harmony and calm that define his
work, creating images that feel understated and timeless.
The project was also a chance to step away from my commercial practice and explore something more restrained
and personal. Morandi’s gentle simplicity, first encountered whilst visiting the Estorick Collection, has stayed with
me ever since.
Sara Morris is a photographer and director known for her contemporary style, striking lighting, and playful
compositions. With a refined sense of tone and space, she creates dynamic visuals that captivate and engage.
